The Truth About Somatics, And Why Most Brands Are Getting It Wrong

Somatics is not a vibe. It's a biological reality.

You've probably felt the rise of nervous system language everywhere, Instagram, podcasts, wellness circles. Drop into your body. Heal trauma with breath. Underneath the language, though, is a real truth: most of what gets sold as somatic work isn't actually somatic at all.

Your nervous system is your body's control center. It's constantly scanning for cues of safety or threat, and that scanning shapes how you move, connect, and survive. But feeling anxious doesn't mean something's wrong with you. Capacity isn't about suppressing or bypassing what you feel. It's about building the ability to stay with yourself while you feel it.

Somatics isn't breathwork alone. It isn't an aesthetic. It isn't a curated identity you can perform your way into.

Real somatic work involves noticing what's happening inside your own body, staying with a sensation long enough to actually understand it, and moving that understanding toward some kind of resolution. Eugene Gendlin called this felt sense, the pre-verbal, internal knowing of what's actually true inside you. It's the line between bypassing something and actually being in it.

A lot of the wellness market sells constant down-shifting, calm at any cost. But some women don't need to slow down. They need to wake up. To feel. To come back to their own aliveness.

The work I do is layered and embodied: helping women access their own felt sense, working through fascia, breath, and emotion together, training the capacity to feel instead of just perform feeling.

This was never about hacking your way to peace. It's about coming home to what's actually true in your body.
